Media personality Ken Mijungu has joined Kenyans in mourning the death of Standard journalist Shadrack Mitty.

"His dedication was unquestionable .,proffesionalism unrivaled. A friendly team member whose contact in the education sector made all the difference in our work. Mitty was a good man, a perfect gentleman." He captioned

KTN's Lofty Matambo eulogized Mitty as polite and  humble

"Si ya kuaminiNaandika kwa mshtuko na simanzi kuu mauko yako usiku wa kuamkia leo. Tulifanya nawe kazi kwa zaidi ya miaka 5 pale KTN/KTNNews.Kumbukumbu zako ni utu wako, upole unyenyekevu , kutopenda fujo wala ghasia. Mpenda kazi yake.Rest in Eternal Peace colleague Shadrack Mitty. A good man has rested."

Betty Lumuli shared their last conversation revealing Mitty had promised he was doing better

"We talked and you told me you were improving. I was waiting to see you back in the newsroom. Newsroom will never be the same without you. A hardworker both at Qtv where we first met and later reconnected at Ktn News, you were always ready and equipped with enough footage when you came to edit your stories. Video editors never struggled to edit your pieces. And your passion for education stories was top notch. We will miss your education reporting. No wonder many called you 'mwalimu' because of the mastery of the same. Your demise has really shocked me but it is well. May God comfort your dear wife and daughter. Rest in Eternal peace Shadrack Mitty Baba Risper."

He was a seasoned reporter on the education beat.

He died while undergoing treatment at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital (KUTRRH) as a result of heart related complications.
