Kenyan man climbing Mt Everest found dead hours after going missing

• Kirui was climbing Mt Everest without using supplemental oxygen. 

• Kirui showed abnormal communication behaviour with his guide before the duo went out of contact.

A renowned Kenyan climber Cheruiyot Kirui has been found dead hours after being reported missing while on a mission to climb Mt Everest.

Kirui went mission together with his guide at a time when they had climbed above 8,000M on Mt. Everest.

Kirui was climbing Mt Everest without using supplemental oxygen. 

According to Everest Today, his body was found a few meters below the summit of Mt Everest.

"With profound sadness, we share the news of Kenyan mountaineer Cheruiyot Kirui's passing on Mt #Everest. His body was found a few meters below the summit point of Mt Everest," 

"He was accompanied by a Nepali climber Nawang Sherpa, whose fate is still unknown." 

The Nepalese was also missing alongside Cheruiyot.

An earlier statement details that Kirui showed abnormal communication behaviour with his guide before the duo went out of contact. 

At the same time, another Romanian who was part of the mission has also been found dead in his tent. 

A crosscheck on Kirui’s socials shows that he had announced that he was embarking on a no-oxygen climb attempt. 

"A no-oxygen attempt comes with its own special preparations and risks; physically, my body is ready. On the other risks, I'm taking various measures. As usual, we reconvene here in a few days to see how things will have turned out," he wrote five days ago.
