The family of late Nollywood actor Junior Pope has began a week-long burial preparations for the actor. He will be buried on Friday 17th May 2024.
The burial schedule started on April 23rd with a requiem mass. On Monday May 13th, there was another requim mass while Tuesday 14th. there will be an evening of Tributes and candlelight,
That will be followed by a burial Mass on Friday 17th May at St Peter's Parish Ukehe, when the actor will be laid to rest.
The actor was on his way to a movie set before his demise. He together with other crew members died as a result of drowning after the boat they were on capsized.
His death was announced by the Actors' Guild of Nigeria.
“Following the tragic incident of a boat mishap that claimed the life of Junior Pope and three other crew members at waterside of River Niger Cable point Asaba on April 10, all films that involve riverine areas and boat riding are hereby suspended indefinitely," read part of the letter
He is survived by his wife Jeniffer Awele and three sons.
He died aged 43.
