Lady Jay Dee gets emotional eulogising late ex-husband Gardner Habash

The ex-husband of Bongo singer Lady Jaydee has died aged 50. He died this past weekend at the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI) where he was undergoing treatment.

The news of his death was confirmed by Clouds Media management in a heartfelt condolence message. 

Jaydee and Habash were married in 2005 and later divorced in 2016. The two appeared to have reconciled as they shared a photo hanging out late last year. 

The singer had accused her late ex-husband of alleged infidelity and alcoholism. He had one child from another relationship with singer and entrepreneur Malkia Karen.

Following the announcement of his passing, family and friends gathered at Leaders Club, Dar Es Salam Monday, April 22, to eulogise him.

Lady Jay dee addressed mourners saying, "Kwanza sijui at a kitu cha kuzungumza nianzie wapi kwasababu sikuwa nimejipanga, wala sikuwa nime tegema siku ya leo itafikia hapa tulipo kwa ajili ya kuaga mpenzi wetu lakini nishukuru tu kwa kila mmoja aliye fika kushiriki hapa na tuendelee kumwombea aweze kupumzika kwa amani."

She was overcome with sorrow and cut short her speech. President Samia Suluhu led the tributes, calling Gardner a social man. Even Harmonize paid tribute 

Esma Platnumz wrote, "Mungu ni wetu sote na kila mmoja atarejea kwake, tuombe sana duwa na tujikabidhi kwa allah ili tupate mwisho mwema inshallah🙏🏼"

Diamond Platnumz's mother Sandra Dangote wrote, "Mungu ailaze roho yako peponi @captaintanzania."

According to a family account, Gardner G Habash had been hospitalised for a few days, with heart and blood pressure complications.  He was a Clouds FM presenter.
