Award-winning media personality Lynn Ngugi penned a powerful message to her fellow youth- striving to achieve success, using herself as the perfect example.

The YouTuber used one of her TBT photos to drive her well-crafted message home – encouraging those who want to make it in life.

“This is me many years back 🙏 I really don’t know how to tell you it gets better without making it sound like some sort of prosperity gospel, but things really do get better.

“One of the things I have come to realize in this life is that no one owes you anything and success does indeed leave patterns,” Lynn said in part.

According to the journalist, many people yearn for success within the shortest period possible so that they can prove their critics wrong.

“The truth is, we want to get there faster, and easier, and prove to everyone who said we would amount to nothing that they were absolutely wrong,"

She pointed out that success requires, dedication, discipline, and consistency.

“But, that’s not how life works. Life is about motion. It’s about always putting one foot in front of the other. It’s about continuously improving on your current skills and learning new skills. It’s about consistency, discipline, rest, and knowing you are eventually going to mess up someday,” Lynn noted.

“You have to be ok looking stupid, because aren’t we all at some point? But, what’s the obsession with you wanting the world to see you in your perfect state?".

Ms Ngugi advised that people should not shy away from criticism if they want to grow.

I see many people scared of starting , of criticism and they would rather die with their gift than have people laugh at them…the truth is even if you are an angel, people will still be disturbed by the sound of your wings~(words by Lorenzo) and truthfully, the best growth comes from people who think they are hurting you with their feedback. Learn to look at that criticism objectively. Ask yourself questions such as, “could there be some truth in what they said no matter how the message was delivered?”. Then pick that and grow. That person will forever think they bruised you but they helped you grow. One of my biggest regrets is going for less than I was built for. For instance, I love hiphop and always imagined having a show on the same( might actually do it), I love Agribusiness content ( glad I am back to covering the same), really love acting, (did not act much but this photo is of me as Maimuna in Utengano) and I definitely want to own a coffee shop but I kept holding back and prioritizing other people/things over everything..Has that served me, absolutely Not. Is it too late, Absolutely Not Get those skills. Also, let nobody say Esther..Established 😂✌️"
