Renowned Mugithi singer Mary Wangari Gioche, known as Kareh B, continues to mourn deeply following the death of her 17-year-old son, Joseph Mwaduli.
Joseph, a Form Four student at Chavakali Boys High School in the Western region, died on Monday night after the bus they were traveling in for the April holiday crashed at the Mamboleo junction in Kisumu County.
The singer has continued to express her grief as a mother who has lost her son and has plunged into demanding answers about what happened.
"I need answers. If only I had been supervising time, you wouldn't have traveled, Joe! But I'm powerless," the artist said in one of her posts on Facebook.
She shared pictures and videos highlighting the good times they had with the young man before his unexpected death on April 1, 2024.
"The lights have gone out too soon for you, my son," she said.
On Friday, family and close friends laid a floral wreath at the Mamboleo junction, where the accident that claimed Joseph's life occurred.
Kareh B had announced the event earlier that day, also thanking her family for supporting her since she lost her son.
"At twelve noon, we'll lay a floral wreath at Mamboleo where the accident happened. Anyone near Kisumu, please join us 😭😭," Kareh B announced on Facebook.
She added, "For those asking about meetings, they're ongoing at Blue Springs from half past twelve noon. Thank you, Family, for checking up on me up to this point. Go well, my son 😭."
Earlier, the musician demanded answers about her son's death, revealing that she is not okay following the heartbreaking incident.
"I need answers, I'm broken," Kareh B said via Facebook.
She claimed she still hasn't received information about her son's death and what happened. She also lamented the issue of school children traveling at night.
The artist from Murang'a County also called on the government to provide answers regarding road accidents, an issue she urged them to address urgently.
"Government; what are your thoughts on this matter? Will you continue to remain silent and lose more children on the roads?
What steps are you taking to reduce accidents occurring in the country, especially among the youth of the new generation? Do we need to resurrect Michuki?" she wrote.
She added, "I need answers. Rest well, my son."
