Nigerian singer Davido has opened up about meeting with his wife Chioma when he was not as rich as he is right now.
He added that just like his wife, everyone around him was there when he was nothing.
"I met my wife before, I was saying to myself if I didn't meet her and I was single and meet a girl, I know you are talking to me because I'm Davido and you know I have money."
Adding, “My own success is when I see people around who were there when I had nothing and they see me now, that’s the feeling, not like when you blow up and start hanging out with a new set of people. You need to keep the people that were there with you since grinding."
The couple recently welcomed twins. Davido had also confirmed that he and Chioma got married at a secret wedding in 2022.
Before I went on break, I actually had an album ready. I had it all ready, but we redid the album. I travelled, I am married. A lot of different things, but we are ready to get back on the road.”
“I have had a lot to think about, time to rest, reflect on a lot of family time. Time to make music again." He said
The couple lost their firstborn, Ifeanyi the same year, days after his third birthday. Celebrating the birthday at the time, Chioma wrote;
"Happy birthday to the love of my life. Mummy loves you so much, may God always bless you for me. God has been so faithful to us and I’m so grateful to be called your mummy. May you be greater than your parents in Jesus’ name, amen. Love you twin! #big3."
