Diamond Platnumz is without doubt one of the biggest music stars in East Africa. The Tanzanian singer's manager, Sallam Sk has opened up about the singer's rate card.

He said Diamond does not take anything less than a hundred thousand US dollars (Ksh 14.2 million). He said this is the minimum.

"Sio chini ya dola laki moja. Inafikia gharama unapanda kwenye stage na watu 20-30 na wote unawalipa," he said when asked how much the singer charges per show

(He doesn't take anything less than 100K USD. It gets to a point that he has to get on stage with 20-30 people and you have to pay them)

He advised artistes that if they have to get on a stage which has been put up with about Tsh 200 million why not also ask to be paid the same kinds of money.

"We need to invest in music," he said

He gave tips on how he and Diamond promote their music internationally.

"In the beginning we used to go to clubs abroad and give a certain amount to the deejay to play the music or buy drink worth that amount for you to be able to request a song."

Adding "We have done that kind of marketing and right now we are eating the fruits of our labour."

Sallam also shut down rumors that he was in a bad relationship with Diamond Platnumz. He said he wasn't being seen with the singer recently as he had asked to get time to deal with his media business.
