Jovial responds to ex boss, Otile Brown claiming lack of international artistes in East Africa

Kenyan musician Jovial was flown to Tanzania for a concert and while speaking to journalists, she commented on Otile Brown's claims that there are no international artistes in the East African region.

"Sometimes, a debate can arise which is not a fight. If you wnat to understand a point someone is making, you have to dig deep,' she told Tanzanian press

Adding "I feel like most people just want to comment and not understand the point he is making."

She went on to support Otile's commnents "I feel like he is right, as long as he's not mentioned any artiste, he spoke about East African artiste, that should be a challenge to us. It shouldn't be fights everyday. We need to see things in a different picture."

Otile made the comments s in an interview with Oga Obinna.

"And this international goal we will continue striving and struggling for it because the industry is stuck. Because as it stands in East Africa there is no international artist in here!" he said.

Adding, "Forget what you think, let nobody lie to you, in East Africa, there is no international artist!" 

Asked what about Diamond Platnumz, he said, "Let us keep it real if you all want to keep it real. We have a job to do!"

"Let us not lie to ourselves and be like oohh packaging oohh this and that, a lot of unnecessary noise," added Otile Brown."

"We have a job to do, we have all reached the ceiling and that's why we are struggling. We need to break the ceiling, that is the only way we will be able to rise up. Let us start embracing other music,."
