Former Journalist Jacque Maribe, was acquitted in the murder of late businesswoman Monicah Kimani. Her ex fiance, Joseph 'Jowie' Irungu has been found guilty of Monicah's murder and the sentencing will be done on 8th March.

Speaking to the press minutes after the rulling, Jacque Maribe asked Kenyans to read a Bible verse about the truth.

"I don't need to say anthing, I'll just say, go read John 8:32, for you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free."

According to Justice Grace Nzioka, Maribe was acquitted over lack of evidence.

"It is my considered view that the charge brought against the second accused person was not the proper charge," she said.

"Was there any offense committed when the second accused person stated the investigating officer at Lang'ata police station which turned out to be not true? I say no more. The office of the Director of Public Prosecution knows their mandate.

"The result is that the prosecution did not adduce enough evidence for this court to find the second accused person guilty of the offense of murder of Monica Nyawira Kimani on the night of September 19, 2018," Justice Nzioka said.
