Controversial event promoter Sue Gacambi is calling on any girl who failed KCPE and needs a sponsor to pay fees to reach out to her.

Since the results were released on November 23 last year, many needy students have come forth to appeal to Kenyans to assist where they can.

Those who transited to Form One joined their schools on Mon Jan 15, with many more languishing at home with no sign of when they will be able to report to High School.

Her unique request has been welcomed by Kenyans.

Sue in a note on her social media wrote

"I Sue Gacambi am looking to sponsor one gal who failed KCPE exam pukuru, mpaka akachukuwa miguu juu"

Her appeal has generated quite an interest on Facebook with a full list disclosing the names and contributions made by well-wishers living in the US.

She quoted a Bible verse to serve as encouragement that such children also need to fulfill their dreams.

"Proverbs 19:17 He who pities the poor lends to the LORD: When we give to the poor (expressing our love and pity towards them), we aren't wasting our money. It is like lending money to the LORD Himself."

While releasing the school placement results, Education CS announced that all 1.4 million candidates who sat the final 8-4-4 primary school test had been placed in various secondary schools across the country.

He also urged regional directors of education and County education directors to ensure that principals of secondary schools do not impose additional levies on parents beyond the limit set out by the Ministry of Education.

“The Constitution obligates the government to provide free and compulsory education, saying additional levies deny children of poor parents access to education,” observed Machogu.
