On Wednesday, Mugithi singer Mugithi Samuel Muchoki aka Samidoh witnessed dozens of netizens mentioning his co-parent and bae, Karen Nyamu on his social media pages.
This came after he shared the good news about his being recognized by the president at the annual awards held on Jamhuri Day.
In a statement, the musician who is also a police officer celebrated being recognized by President William Ruto on this year's Jamhuri Day and was proud of his humble journey to success.
At the same time, he attributed his great success to God and his fans.
"Today, I take a moment to express my gratitude to God for the wonderful journey that I have been blessed with so far.
As an ambitious village boy, I never thought that life would take me on such an amazing path," Samidoh said on Instagram.
He attached his statement to the list of Kenyans awarded with presidential awards on Tuesday which showed him at number 121.
"Every step of the way has been a testimony to the power of dreams, hard work and the unquestionable support of my loved ones and you, my fans.
I firmly believe that success is a joint effort and I am always grateful for the grace, love and support from God and from people around me," he said.
The singer also thanked President William Ruto for recognizing him and promised to continue to put more effort into the industry.
"Thank you all for your unwavering love and support. Let's continue to do good while encouraging others along the way," he said.
Dozens of fans who saw Samidoh's post gathered under it with different comments, thanks, and even ridicule.
Some fans even suggested that nominated senator Karen Nyamu, who is the singer's lover had a role to play in the selection of those who were recognized.
