To live and learn has been Big Ted's lesson after his divorce who is currently back in Kenya for the holidays.
For the first time ever, Kenya's Consul General for Los Angeles, Thomas Kwaka aka Big Ted, is opening up about his children and remarrying.
In an interview with Iko Nini podcast on Wed Dec 13th, he spoke about remarrying, plus raising his children.
Ted has two daughters and prefers to keep them out of the spotlight. They are teens and live in Kenya with their mother.
He said that this was their request. "They are at that age where they tell you, 'Dad, you know my friends are here - Kenya,' so you let them be."
He loves being a girl dad. They are his pride and joy as a parent.
"Nimewapiga cover mbaya. Even if you Google them, you won't find them. I am a slave of these children. I can't tell them no. They know this. I am like what do you need, no no no I will give you today."
He also spoke about what led to the split with his ex-wife, explaining it wasn't work or money-related.
"I was in a different direction and so was she. Na sikutake time nijaribu hizo mbili zishikane. Then you come and find we are strangers. We were in different spaces at the time."
He also spoke about how he handles all the women in his life.
"I have remarried, so I have five women, hao madame huwa very special, in fact me saa hii coz I remarried, the blunder is niko na five women in my life, by the way hio ni ngori. Wote waki decide wata kutolea attitude, machozi tu brathe..." he laughed about handling women.
"But we've been put here for such things. And then to live and learn you know divorce is not final."
"Divorce is not final, and I'd rather you go back to your parents with your suitcase, than to go back to your parents in a suitcase."
