Signs that you might be battling depression

• Depression can in extreme cases lead to suicide.

Over the past few days, Radio host Azziad has been trending after opening up on her battle with depression.

The depression made her suicidal after she became famous in the 'Utawezana' Challenge.

The big question is, what are the signs to watch out for?

  • Continuous feelings of sadness, tearfulness
  • Constantly feeling empty or hopeless
  • Anger outbursts, irritability, or frustration even when 
  • Loss of interest or pleasure in most or all normal activities, such as sex, hobbies, or sports
  • Insomnia or sleeping too much
  • Not wanting to socialize, staying indoors with curtains closed.
  • Continuous low mood or sadness.
  • Having low self-esteem.
  • Constant feelings of guilt
  • Lack of interest in things that initially interested you.
  • finding it difficult to make decisions.

In extreme cases depression can lead to suicide.

Suicide is death caused by harming oneself to die. 

Attempted suicide is when someone hurts themselves to end their life, but does not die.
