On Thursday, education CS Ezekiel Machogu announced the last cohort for the KCPE results. The top candidate was Michael Warutere from Riara Springs with 428 marks.

On the morning conversation with Mike and King'ang'i, the duo asked listeners what really happens to students who score very low marks on the national exams.

"If you are a parent and you find out that your child did not pass their KCPE exam, what do you do? What was your parents' reaction after they found out what you scored?" Asked Mike

He continued;

"There are those kids that performed well and those that didn’t."

Mwalimu King’ang’i added "That’s what I like about CBC. Children will get the chance explore their strengths."

A caller said that he got 198 marks out of 500 and his dad did not pay for his highschool but took him to a technical college "I did a mechanical course, that is what feeds my family to date. Surprisingly, my son did his KCPE and he passed."

Check out listeners' reaction on X:

Mossy Wa Kanyiri: Parents should try to establish any other areas the kid is endowed in and help them develop those areas. They should also grow their talents. The system is discriminatory and focuses on grades. Sitting for an exam is an achievement by itself. Even if your child didn't perform well in exams congratulate them. Help them implore other areas and let them discover their talents. We are blessed differently.

Jeniffer Kanyiri: Let the parents not be hard on those who didn't perform well,,a child might not be very good in academics but in other skills,,explore other things and that child will make it life too,,let exam passing not be the parameters of one's life

MC Tonje: As a parent if the kid did not pass ,I'll counsel and give encouragement . There's always room for improvement and ; kids always deserve parental love regardless of their performance in school.

JK: That pressure is too much coz they can't afford a child not performing well just because as major stakeholders in the education sector ,parents want to have a leading example,

MCT: I support Kingangi percent, kids get to explore their talents early enough. I'd want to encourage parents out there to nurture and support their kids. Talents pays a lot in our today's world.

Thehostwilliam: It is something most parents don’t welcome in a village I come from, they only embrace good performance. Following from Mumias

IamMorgan: Good morning Mike, you don't disown them hayo ni damu yako. Life must go on

Hamisa Krollma: not everyone was born a book warmer those children who didn’t perform well could be very good in technical work we need technical schools in every county to help kids learn skills in different so called JUA KALI sector from furniture mechanics welding …
