There is drama between Mr Ibu's kids and his wife Stella Maris Okafor. The feud has been brought about by the money that is being raised for the Nollywood star's medical procedures.
Stella says she does not have access to the donation account which she claimed to be controlled by the actor's adopted daughter Jazmine.
She took to social media to rant.
“Recently, there have been some malicious lies being peddled against me on social media as masterminded by Jazmine Chioma Okeke, who wants to make me an outsider in my own home, but God forbid. I will address Jazmine’s excessive interference in my family affairs and other related matters when the time is right. For now, my husband’s health is most important to me."
She added;
“The N1m donation they talked about was paid into my account on my husband’s instruction (and in his presence) to offset some bills at the home front. I don’t understand why Jazmine, a stranger, should be dragging me over my family matter.”
She demanded access to the account.
“I cannot access the main Access bank account where people make donations. Jazmine is secretly controlling it, yet she is cooking up all kinds of lies and propaganda against me to keep absolute control of that account. How she manipulated her way and took control of that account is the story for another day.”
While Nigerian media pundits report there was a strained relationship between Mr Ibu and his wife before he was admitted to the hospital, Daniel Okafor, Mr Ibu's son says he is the one in charge of the account and not his adopted sister.
Speaking to Punch, Mr Ibu's son said the actor's wife was telling lies.
“There is no truth in what Stella Maris has been sharing online. Jasmine does not have access to that account; I have access to it. I am the signatory to the account and my father’s next of kin," he said
He added that the actor's wife is just but his step mother.
“She is my step mother. My mother is not around at the moment,” Daniel said.
Mr Ibu's leg was recently amputated days after he appealed for financial help from the public.
