Fed-up Otile Brown delivers mature analysis of Kenya's leadership

• The musician rarely ever speaks about political affairs but in this instance, he had to open up.

The state of the economy and poor leadership is seeing more and more celebrities speaking up and giving their opinion. Even leaders, and opinion shapers across the political divide are weighing in.

Singer Otile Brown on Saturday, Nov 11 addressed the matter of poor leadership saying it has big implications on how a country is run.

"So this country of mine, Kenya ambayo naipenda na mi nimzalendo sana, so wakati wote ukiskia napngea siongei kwenye utimu au ama ...me Im for the people, unalielewa, so hapa ni po hii ni Kilelelshwa na Kileleshwa hii as you can see, there is no even a single street light."

The singer was driving at night in his car, providing a glimpse of the roads and surroundings while criticizing city leaders

"Unanielewa? and this is a town this is just a few kilometeres to the main , to the city, to tao. na imemenda moja kwa moja mpaka Riverside kule mpaka James Gichuru, there is no even a single street light. So nashangaa ni serikali ndio inaepuka majukumu ama kuna watut  tu fulani ambao wamezembea kazini."

He placed it on lack of empathy among other qualities

"Coz it doesn't really make sense. Uanelewa? Na hizi njia unaweza kuta watu ambao wamekwa kwa nafasi hizo watuwakilishe na watufanyie kazi wanazipita kila wakati wanaona hali."

The Dusuma singer said this leads to poor outcomes for a nation that needs to develop.

"So I was debating with a friend ni ki share incidence gani unacheki Kenya kuna job opportunities mob, na tatizo ni management vile tunamanage hii inchi yetu. Kuna wasee ambao wako nafasi ambazo hawstahili kabisa nafasi hizo ni kubwa na muhumu lakini hawazitaki."

He pointed out what he meant,

"A lot of bosses I've seen them you know they are just spiteful people, full of ego, all they care about is position and the cars they are driving. Watu hawana malengo, hawana mipango, hawana nia, and that's a very dangeorus person."

He explained how leaders lose their way while concluding

"You see how the economy is right now? if they can manage it well, watalii wanaongezeka, and what this means is that work becomes more. Even that JKIa is managed well, inammana usafiri inaongeeka, an usafiri ukiongezeka, nafasi za kazi zinaongezeka and all that."
