Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has congratulated Alan Fisher after dethroning her.
Baci held the Longest cooking marathon title by an individual.
Taking to her Twitter account, Hilda wished Alan all the best
"Huge congratulations to Alan Fisher! 119hrs 57mins is a huge achievement, and I wish him all the best as the new world record holder!"
Alan Fisher broke Baci's record after clocking in a time of 119 hours 57 minutes. This was more than 24 hours longer than Baci's.
The previous record, famously set by Nigeria's Hilda Baci in June this year, stood at 93 hours 11 minutes.
Fisher then claimed the longest baking marathon by an individual with a time of 47 hours 21 minutes. The previous record holder was Wendy Sandner (USA) with a time of 31 hours 16 minutes.
Fisher began his non-stop cooking marathon on Thursday, September 29 at 4 p.m., making traditional Irish dishes such as bacon and cabbage, Irish stew, and chowder, finishing triumphantly 120 hours later on Monday.
His achievement captured the imagination of locals and there was a constant stream of customers to the restaurant to enjoy the food which was given away for free in accordance with the rules for Guinness World Record.
