Musician Esther Akoth aka Akothee has told off people who are associating her with her Swiss hubby, Denis Schweizer, and warned them that she would take legal action against them.
On October 17th during a live session on her Facebook account, the 'Sweet Love' singer threatened to sue anyone defaming her with 'Omosh'.
“If you dare to call me Schweizer, I will take you to court for defamation of character,” she fiercely stated.
What stood out during the live was that she called her ex-boyfriend Nelly Oaks as “babe” during the session, something that caught the keen attention of many Kenyans watching.
She also described Nelly as a wealthy man with substantial assets.
“I have no other name to call him (Nelly Oaks). How you choose to interpret it is none of my concern. There are certain qualities I admire in this man, and I have communicated this to him. I told him, ‘Just know that even if we never get married, inform your wife that there is a woman named Akothee who will always be a part of your life’.”
Lastly, the mom of 5 refuted claims that she's a “slay queen” saying that she prefers keeping her personal life off social media.
Akothee's admonition comes at a time when there has been a lot of speculation as to whether the couple that got married in April (arguably Kenya's biggest wedding in 2023) were still together.
A lot of the rumours were fuelled by a message that the businesswoman had posted in early October about how she had been seeing a therapist for an unknown issue she didn't mention.
What also added to the mystique of the situation was that Omosh and Akothee hadn't been spotted together for a very long time.
After the rumours emerged, Esther made sure to ask out loud why Kenyans thought she and Omosh weren't together anymore despite her not saying as much.
