Brian Mwendwa has been trending after it emerged he is not a qualified lawyer.
A post by the Law Society Of Kenya pointed out that Mwenda has never attended any Law School.

He studied at Madaraka Primary School,
Scored a B+ in KCSE.
Was called to join Chuka University to Study for a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology.
Has won 26 cases in court.
How did he end up in court?
Brian worked at the Office of the Attorney General.
He did not apply for a Practicing certificate as it was not a requirement for him to work in the AG's office.
In September 2023 he attempted to login to the LSK portal to no avail.
On September 2023 ICT confirmed the details Brian logged in with were not his.
Brian is alleged to have used a common fraud scheme known as Business Email Compromise.
He identified as a genuine advocate with an inactive status.
He couldn't use his Practicing certificate to make payments or an application. He changed his profile photo, applied, and paid for a practicing certificate.
The applications couldn't go through as he was required to provide a Certificate of Business incorporation, without it and its verifications an application cannot.
The Law Society of Kenya has however clarified that their system was not at any point compromised.
