22-year-old MC Gogo is not letting fame make him forget his humble beginnings. He remains grateful for the success he is enjoying but has not forgotten coming from grass to grace.
Mc Gogo had a rough time before Mceeing became his main income earner. Revealing his humble beginning to Phil Director on the show Becoming a CEO, Gogo said that he was a teacher earning sh3k a month.
"I have had some jobs a long time ago that hmm...but ni sawa," he shook his head recalling tough times.
"I've been a teacher in a primary school. I was getting paid Sh3K a month. That was after finishing high school. And they even had problems paying me that Sh3k. Unashindwa huyu jamaa surely! 3k for those days and you are refusing to pay me surely? Unemployment is real because those I went to campus with very few are employed. If you find an alternative, heri upambane nayo."
He studied an unlikely course, "I did Psychology. so no matter what, it's my voice that will earn."
Gogo hasn't graduated though because a lecturer is yet to give him a missing mark.
"Na bado kuna lecturere ananisumbua saa hii, mwabie tuu anipee marks yangu," he confessed.
He is famous and earns lots of money from his trade.
"I am the same Gogo. It's just that I'm now famous. Many people now know me. Nothing changes."
