Tanzanian rapper Rosa Ree is expressing a deep yet troubling concern about Kenyan bathrooms. The musician is on a Kenyan tour and charity drive.
The announcement was made a week ago, she was expected to visit a cancer center in Kariobangi. Her Kenyan fans hailed it as a welcome home considering she has lived in Kenya for many years. She even speaks several dialects.
In a video seen by Mpasho, Rosa Ree rants about a missing component in Kenyan bathrooms that has forced her to speak out. That missing thing is a pipe,
"Jamani nateseka kila nikijisaidia inabidi nioge mwili mzima. Kutawaza ni lazima Kenya mnaishiije!" she exclaimed.
In a video, she begins her rant saying she's frustrated there is no pipe in our bathrooms. The purpose of the pipe with water is to help clean off after toilet use. You can use pipe in conjunction with toilet paper, or on its own.
"My dear Kenyans, we love you so much but there' is a problem. Lakini mnaishiije bila shata ya kutawazia chooni? It's just tissue all over. When you enter the bathroom, all you see is lots of tissue. Look tissue here, tissue there."
She exclaims that it's not hygienic,
"Kishata kiko wapi cha kupazia jamani? Tunahangaika, tuna tengeneza mashatahafu yetu ya kiuchwara jamani msaada kwenye tuta," she cries out showing she is forced to use a soda bottle with water to clean up.
