Nigerian artist Ruger has confirmed he lost one of his eyes.

Ruger's trademark has been rocking an eye patch which many assumed way to brand himself.

Sharing an old video created from his past, Ruger reminisced on life when he still had both eyes.

"All before I lost one of my eyes 🙏🏾I had very vivid dreams of being who I am today right from a very young age. I thank God for taking me to where I’m supposed to be in life. And I appreciate everyone that has taken part in this journey I love you all ❤️RU THE WORLD 🌍 OUT NOW!!!!"

A fan responded saying the artist was lying

"We all know it's all branding. You will never lose any of eyes in real life. Lase Edumare. Say Amen."

Ruger responded saying if anyone sees him with two eyes, then that would not be him but his Kenyan Impersonator.

Just recently Ruger responded to a Kenyan man who has been impersonating him.

He promised not to take any action.

Appearing on BBC Extra, Ruger made it clear that he has no problem with ‘Ruger Wa Kayole’ performing his songs at concerts.

The Dior hitmaker noted that his Kenyan lookalike is just trying to hustle and he doesn't take offense at him performing his songs.

“I wish him well ooh! I’m happy for him, and he is making his piece. Everybody must eat. When people were telling me that have you seen this? I was just like the man is trying to hustle and he is actually promoting my songs in a way. He is not making his own songs and saying it's Ruger who made the songs, so, at the end of the day, they will go back and stream those songs, and that is the most important thing.

Abeg, everybody should calm down,” Ruger said.

For the past few weeks, Tuger Wa Kayole has been making headlines, impersonating the original Ruger at different events in Kenya.

However, in a recent interview, the Ruger lookalike made it clear that he is a diehard fan of the Nigerian singer and that’s why he likes dancing and even performing his songs.

He mentioned that he started off as a dancer before his start started shining recently when people started comparing him to the original Ruger.

He opted to go with the flow and that is why he has been receiving a lot of attention from fans.
