To love and to be loved is a beautiful thing. Some celebrities in their quest for love decided to try and date younger people since people of their age bracket weren't available or didn't show any interest.

Although some succeeded in their love journeys others were terrible failures and some decided not to date any younger person after their failed relationships.

Research states that the best and most lasting relationships have to have a 0-3-year age gap. 

We have seen that international celebrities have started the trend of dating younger people and as Africans, we decided to follow in their footsteps.

Most people shame the act while others have different views and are even in support of such celebrities.

Below are some of the celebrities that have dated people that are older than them but the relationships didn't work out.

1) Britney Spears and Sam Asghari

Sam Asghari and ex-wife Brittney Spears have a 12-year age gap. Sam is 29 years old while Britney is 41 years old. The two have been married for only 14 months and decided to call it quits after Sam accused Britney of cheating.

2) Fridah Kajala and Harmonize

Harmonize is a Tanzanian musician while Fridah Kajala is an actor. The two have been in an off-and-on relationship but decided to end their official relationship after few months.

Fridah is 38 years old while Harmonize is 33. The two ended their relationship because of cheating cases.

3) Shakira and Gerad Pique

Shakira and former football star  Gerad Pique had a long relationship that lasted 12 years. The couple had a ten-year age gap but didn't see a problem with it. 

Over time the couple got tired of each other and the age gap became intolerable and decided to end their lovely marriage.

4) Zari Hassan and Diamond Platinum

Zari Hassan has had a record of dating younger men but the most famous is with one of her baby daddy's Diamond Platnumz. Diamond and Zari had a lovely relationship that bore two children. The couple had a 9-year age difference and Zari was the older person in the relationship.

5) Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa

The two ended their relationship after they both had different focuses in life. Jason wanted to pursue his career and travel the world since his career was at its peak while Lisa wanted to remain in LA and not travel at all.

The two were married for 16 years and they had a 12-year age gap.

6) Vera Sidika and Otile Brown

Vera and Otile were the once perfect couple in Kenya. With Otile's romantic side and Vera's to-die-for figure, the couple had made many people envy their once-happy relationship. They dated for 6 months and decided to call it quits after each shaming the other on social media.

The couple had a 4-year gap and Otile was the younger person.

7) Jenifer Lopez and Casper Smart

Casper and Lopez ended their 5-year relationship after Casper was found cheating on Lopez. Casper was Jennifer's dancer and they decided to give their 18-year age gap a chance but it didn't take long for Casper to start looking for people of his age.

8) CS Alfred Mutua and Lilian Nganga 

Cabinet Secretary for foreign and diaspora affairs and ex-wife decided to call their marriage after 9 years. CS Alfred Mutua said their relationship ended amicably.

 The two had a 15year age gap with Alfred Mutua being the older person in the relationship.

Lilian Nganga is now dating musician Juliana an together they have one child.

9) Mariah Carey and Nick Canon

Mariah Carey ended their once lovely relationship with Nick Canon after 6-years of marriage. Even after the spit Nick Canon refuses to co-parent and wants to be a full-time parent since he doesn't believe children have to be affected by adult matters. The two have a 10-year age gap.

10) Nick Ndeda and Muthoni Gitau

Nick Ndeda a former kiss presenter ended their 7-year relationship with Muthoni Gitau. The two had a 6-year- age gap. The main reason for their split was because they all saw they were growing but in different directions.
