The Africa Climate Summit held at the KICC has brought to light scores of young Kenyans leading the drive on Climate change.

They attended the summit and spoke of their passion and the work they are doing.

The Theme for this year's summit was “Driving Green Growth and Climate Finance Solutions for Africa and the World”.

The community that follows them has been praising their efforts.

Here is a list of those you should know.

  1. Paul Kaluki:

He is the project lead in Afrika Y Caravan. Another role he holds is Director Inukka Afrika In 2022, he embarked on bringing conservation education to learners and communities for food security

2. Anita Soina

Anita is a well known water and climate change advocate from the Maasai community. The 23 year old was named global water, youth champion in January this year.

She has written a book called 'The Green War'.

3. Abigail Kima

She has a podcast named Hali Hewa.

She shares her insightful thoughts plus holds interviews with industry experts on matters climate. Leading with solutions is her mantra.

Her exciting conversations have a wide audience.

4. Alphonse Muia

Alphonse is the director Partnerships for Change.

He is one of the lead coordinators for the Africa Youth Climate Assembly 2023, where he presented the Youth Declaration.

He believes that youth voices should be heard and solutions implemented.

5. Elvis Leyian

He is a Social Entrepreneur, Environmentalist, Climate Advocate and a Mandela Washington Fellow 2018.

The organization he holds dear to his heart is Heads and Hands Initiaitive Kenya.

His motto is Climate education is paramount for a sustainable future.

6. Elizabeth Wathuti

She is a climate change activist who ensures young people are not left behind.

In an op ed on the Business daily Aug 29, Elizabeth said

“The call for climate action is universal, transcending borders and generations. Youth, driven by creativity, innovation, & boundless energy, stand poised to be the catalysts of change”.
