Twitter Boss Elon Reeve Musk has announced he is introducing audio and video calls on the platform.
Earlier today the CEO announced that one won't need a phone number to make a call all you need is the app.
"Video & audio calls coming to X: - Works on iOS, Android, Mac & PC - No phone number needed - X is the effective global address book That set of factors is unique."
He also continued and explained that the calls will not be encrypted for now because calls do not need encryption.
The encryption would be turned on and off dynamically for those who need it.
Encryption is always used to prevent someone from getting your information, it prevents unauthorized access.
He hasn't released the date he will be adding the features yet but many people are happy and are expecting it.
