Is marriage a relevant institution in today's life? Maina & King'angi discuss

The Morning Conversation on Classic 105, the fantastic duo of Maina Kageni and King'ang'i asked their listeners if they had faced the pressure of getting married.

The morning conversation was inspired by a 32-year-old Oxford University student who decided to marry herself on her birthday.

According to the duo they believe that the university student may have been pressured that's why she decided to marry herself.

"Is marriage a relevant institution in today's life? Why can't people just co-parent ?" were the questions that were running on Maina Kagemi's mind.

Maina further joked that ladies should not accept some of the marriage proposals like for richer or poor they should only accept a man if he's wealthy.

He added that he can't get married, marriages sounds like a prison he doesn't want to suffer.

"Ladies, don't agree to be there for richer and poorer your theme should be for richer and richer. Mimi I can't get married I see the problems you guys go through. Who are these people who are pressuring you to get married?

Most of the ladies agreed that marriage is hell on earth, they regret the whole idea of marriage and wish they did not get married in the first place.

some callers had the following comments to express:

" I tried it for two years and it didn't work, I realized that it was a bad idea to marry my best friend."

"I was married for 5 years. Marriage is 1000 ways to die. I was married and I was dying every day. the guy alikuwa ananihesabia dakika ya kutoka job hadi home. nikichelewa inakuwa vita."

"Maina I am married to a man who is 76 years old. People say that age is just but a number it's not because when you want to say something huyu mtu anakuona kama mtoto. He is so arrogant! he doesn't even want me to work. Ladies please don't get married."

Others decided to express their views through Twitter so that they didn't feel left out of the conversation. Below are some of the tweets:

George M'Cloud@gotieno52@ItsMainaKageni #MainaAndKingangi -Maina there's a reason why people prefer to be single in life. Marriage is a scam especially where a nagging spouse is involved and toxicity!!

Bella Ndichu@NdichuBella-Marriage is no longer based on love. It's based on material wealth and other impure intentions. People don't look for personalities and affection in marriage, they look for what you can offer. @ItsMainaKageni#MainaAndKingangi

The duo concluded the show by each having their own different opinions. Maina was in the motion that marriage is a scam while Mwalimu King'ang'i was in the motion that people should get married.
