Man dies after jumping from third floor in Kahawa West

Mystery surrounds an incident in which a man died after jumping from the third floor of a building in a suspected suicide in Kahawa West, Nairobi.

Even though witnesses said Thomas Ngige died on the spot after landing on his head following the jump, police said they are investigating the incident.

Police said they were called and informed of the Tuesday afternoon incident long after it had happened.

Witnesses said he was alone on the balcony of the house before he leapt off. It is however not clear if he was pushed or jumped on his own.

Police say they are investigating the incident and that the motive, if any, is yet to be known.

In Naivasha, police said they are investigating an incident in which a decomposed body of a man was found in a thicket after a suspected suicide.

The body was found in Karate area by children who were passing through the forest.

The body had a white rope around the neck and it is suspected he died by suicide.

Police arrived at the scene and reported the man had died almost a week earlier. The remains were moved to the mortuary.

It is also not clear if he died at the scene or was killed and the body dumped there.

Police are investigating the matter.

In Kwanza, Trans Nzoia, police said a 43-year-old man died by suicide after hanging himself in his bedroom.

The body of Silas Wekesa was found with a rope around his neck on the rafters of his bedroom on Tuesday.

He had locked himself in the house. Residents had to break his door to access the scene where the body was.

Police said they are yet to establish the motive of the incident.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and further probe.
