Media Personality Tim Njiru disappeared from our TV screens many years ago.

He has been a busy man. Since his exit from the media, he has been in the Airline business as a pilot.

The former MC says he misses the media.

"Media is bread and butter, brings happiness and I brought fame", he shared with Radio Maisha's Mwende Macharia.

In 2017, he left KTN at a time when he was hosting several shows at the TV station.

The Buruburu resident has always had ambitions to be a pilot since Primary School and this is the reality he is living now.

Tim got Kenyans talking earlier this week when he responded to a Kenyans question

He could not get admitted into a piloting program after school because of his grades.

"I tried applying but was unsuccessful. I had a C," he said.

That for him was a disappointment, but he did not give up hope.

He then came up with the idea of joining KIMC to use his voice talent. He met contacts in the airline industry while in the media.

Life in the limelight was so good "Ni burudani, ni sherehe," he fortunately had mentors who warned him about falling for the trappings of many women.

"I had many mentors who warned me and told me one woman at a time. Si ati unarukaruka"

Media was a great experience "The best time to leave a party is when the party begins. Because if you stay too long at that party wakianza kuosha meza, hapo ndio...toka party" he hinted.

He also wanted to leave the media to get married"My friend hapo ndio itakuramba. But it's not that I am bitter. Things happen."

"Nilitupa mbao, in hindsight I said I lost hit because when you have a family as a man you must be their pillar, first before anything else"

He did not put himself first, "Niliacha kazi because of baby, mimi nilisahau mambo ya kazi naanza kusema oh baby baby,"

This state of joblessness cost him his relationship amid money worries. They split. He was highly in debt, living a lifestyle he could not afford.

"I had 3milsh worth of debt, I had car loans I couldn't afford, etc"

He was unable to cope with life as a jobless, broke, and suddenly single man.

He fell into alcoholism, a situation that went out of hand. He took time to reflect and recalled his ambition to be a pilot.

He solved the debt, by selling his TV, and other personal effects to offset the debt.

"Motivation comes from within, I had two cars and sold the expensive big one after." He did not care about being judged. He became a tour guide and even sold dogs to make some money.

He used some of this money to save for flying classes. "Big jobs started coming, for sh5k, 30k, I also moved to a smaller house, living in my means"

He also credits his mentors for guiding him at this time. Then he fully launched into piloting.
