Authorities in Migori County have sounded a tough warning at notorious lovebirds who have turned a thicket in the region into a green lodge.

The tough warning was sounded by Suna-Oruba location Chief Charles Ouma who described that behavior as ‘backward and immoral’.

Credible reports indicate that both married and Youth couples have been sneaking into the bush day and night to make love.

The chief noted that investigations have been launched into the matter and those caught in the act will be arrested and presented in court.

Ouma further stated that they will not allow villagers to turn the forest into lodging.

At the same time, the Chief appealed t the general public to help authorities bring the bad behavior to an end by reporting suspects.

This is not the first time that Oruba residents in Migori are complaining about being treated to the uncomfortable sites of randy couples who have turned a bush into a green love nest.

In May 2022, residents around Kamariebga reported that they usually see couples holding hands, sitting tightly before disappearing into thickets.

Children from nearby schools and traders headed to Migori town market said lovemaking sounds or the aftermath of used condoms and undies left behind have been common.

“We are aware of the complaints. We are alarmed that schoolgoing children have been found playing with condoms, talking and imitating what they have seen in the bushes,” Suna Oruba chief Charles Ouma said.

In May this year, randy Roysambu couples were also put on the spot after turning a popular bush in the area into a lovemaking nest.

A certain bush along the Northern bypass, within the Njathaini area in the Roysambu constituency, had become a popular spot for randy lovers.

This is according to a report on Citizen Digital which featured interviews with several residents who had witnessed the rise in the 'unofficial lodging' inside the tens of acres of the Miaraho bush, also known as Kwa wa Kihiu.

The thicket is littered with makeshift beds made of cartons and nylon papers.

“You will see couples walking into the bush and spending hours before emerging. It’s a common scene here, especially during weekends,” a boda boda rider told Citizen.

“Sometime you will find couples driving and parking inside the bush. I have personally bumped into people on the act inside the bush," he added.
