A debate on homosexuality aired by a Ugandan media house has been branded as Africa's best tv interview.

The man behind it is an even bigger legend online. He is known for popularizing the term 'gay'.

Simon Kagwa Njala works for NBS Uganda and hosts the Morning Breeze show.

Simon went viral for his interview with an LGBTQ activist confronting him about his status, amusing netizens with his rather direct interview in 2013.

The recognition has been made by Africa Facts Zone on Twitter.Africa Facts Zone on Friday, August 11 announced "Africa's most popular interview.

In the TV interview, Simon briefly introduces the guest a rights activist Pepe Julian Onziema and pastor Martin Ssempa on homosexuality.

In the first few minutes of the interview, host Simon Kagwa Njala addresses the guest with a question

“Why are you gay?” Questioned the TV host The activist is taken aback and responds

"Who says I’m gay?" Simon adds

"You are gay.” in a matter of fact way.

The interview only went viral in 2019.
