A Kenyan man has narrated to Maina Kageni that his wife left him with nothing after he had invested in her.

Speaking against opening a joint account with women, the man said that he had put up a business worth millions for his wife.

"We had a joint account where she was able to withdraw money without my permission. I had also opened a business for her. I went to Mombasa for a business trip for three days, I came back and the house was wiped clean. She had left and told the landlord that tumehama."

He added "I slept on the floor and I was devastated, I was in the brink of death. She sold the business for 1.1 million shillings."

The caller added that he went back to his feet and is now married. So do they talk?

"She has been begging for money from me lately." he said

He added that from the lessons he learnt from his first wife,he is more careful with his second wife

"I do all the shopping in the house, I buy everything and live her Ksh 600 per day."

The caller was responding to Maina's question "Men, why do you have such little expectations of your women?" He asked

"I cannot believe this is what you think about your women, the person who you sleep next to every day! It is normal in other parts of the world for men to give their wives their debit/credit cards and open cheques."

Another caller narrated how his wife eloped with a student after acquiring money from him

"A man is the only person who thinks about a family's future. I had a joint account and company with my wife. She withdrew Sh 1.3million from the company accounts while I was in Dubai and took off with a KU student"

Check out tweep's reactions;

Kiptanui: Wacha mtu akae na account yake. Mnakosana na mumama, na bank signing instructions mlikua mmeweka both to sign. Ukitaka kuwithdraw pesa lazima umtafute umbembeleze. Joint accounts ni scam

Micheal Mich: joint account wacha tu nayo. I believe those two men who called and explained their experiences now that I can test to, and we are so many out hear. Joint account no better open an account where for family issues where you can handle family matters with.

Jeff Maina: As a man you should NEVER do that. Let her know what she can handle rather than trusting her with your accounts. I'd give the card to my children but not the wife. Women are dangerous people when it comes to money issues

BarnabasMweu: But in Kenya it where you give out your debit card to your wife to be defrauded and squandered with a Ben 10
