Esther Musila, the wife of Guardian Angel, has an admission about using her mother's urine to submit it as a sample to secure a job.
In an interview with KTN, the career woman said that she was forced to do so to land a dream job in the banking industry. She has had an illustrious career and her husband celebrates her a lot.
Opening up about her life, Musila told that it was a requirement of the bank that she wanted to work on for women to be tested for pregnancy before employment.
“You know the banks those days before they employ you, they tell you to do a pregnancy test. At that point, I was pregnant with my firstborn.
My mother gave me her urine. I needed to go to the interview, I traveled with my mother’s urine from Nakuru to Nairobi,” Musila said.
So because she happened to be pregnant at the time, she figured out a way to land the job, in a different way.
Mrs Obwaka as she is referred to since marrying Guardian Angle, held that job for six years, before resigning to be a stay-at-home mum. She has three children from a different relationship.
Esther added that it was important for her to raise her children, before resuming her career in 2001. She took a four-year hiatus from working.
She was 26 years at the time of taking such a decision to leave a job she had dreamed of.
“Between 1990 and 1996, I worked in the Advances Department at Kenya Commercial Bank. I then took a four-year break from employment to raise my young children."
She now works for the UN, where she has been for 22 years. Her long stint at one of Kenya's most desirable employers is attributed to her drive and ambition. She first began with a three-month contract, that paved the way to a long-term job.
