There is growing proof that Akothee's life and her experiences will always draw national discussion.

Akothee on Sunday, Aug 5 expected to appear at a girls' high school to speak to the students as the institution launched several activities.

She was however swiftly informed that she had been uninvited following concerns expressed by Church leadership, and alumni, who felt she did not fit the profile.

The church that runs the school objected to Akothee’s invitation to be the main speaker motivating the girls through her foundation.

The invite was from Ngiya Girls High School for several activities the girls were doing, among them a talent show.

The communication was written to Akothee who swiftly reacted to the cancellation. On Monday Aug 7, the singer expressed her disappointment and surprise that there was disagreement about her attendance.

A WhatsApp message hinting things were not good prompted her response.

“We have new developments in Ng'iya girls, We shall have to cancel the event because the ACK Bishop of the area is not comfortable with our presence. They even went to the school and were very hard on the principal,” it read.

Then the official communication came, which she put out on her Instagram to alert Kenyans. In a long message, she expressed sadness at the church's position, noting she was ready to support the school in all its needs. She noted that her philanthropic activities will never stop.

The 40-year-old businesswoman has for a second time come out to lash out at society for placing too much pressure on her to be a mentor.

On Tuesday again, Akothee emerged to address concerns raised about her as she went viral on social media.

Akothee has said she has several pending guests invites she is yet to act on as proof that some sections of society see her as a positive influence.

While she said she respects people's opinions, the mother of five also asked that society cease pressuring her.
