Kenyan actors and actresses are set to earn more money thanks to an adjustment of their earnings by the Kenya Actors Guild.

According to an article published in the Nation, the organisation has adjusted the potential earnings for actors' upwards.

A main actor of a local TV Series having at least 13 episodes will now be entitled to at least KSH. 30,000 per episode, while a junior main actor in a similar set is entitled to at least KSH. 25,000 per episode.

Support actors in similar series to earn KSH. 20,000 for every episode, junior support actor KSH. 15,500, background actors with a script KSH. 3,000 while those without scripts (extras) will earn KSH. 1,500.

This means from an entire series, the lead actor earns at least KSH. 390,000.

If the series is international and features a Kenyan actor as the main lead, the rate shoots to $2,500 (KSH. 355,375) per episode and $2,000 (Sh284,300) per episode for the main supporting actor.

For locally produced shows and films, the main actor is to earn at least KSH. 15,000 per day while the main supporting actors will now earn KSH. 12,000 per day.

Junior main actors will earn KSH. 9,000 per day while supporting junior actors will earn KSH. 6,000.
