Most people refer to him as Chipukeezy but his real name is Vincent Mwasia Mutua, let's take a walk into his childhood and path to success.

He was born and raised in Tala, Machakos county, and has five siblings, unlike most celebrities he keeps his family out of the limelight.

Comedy seems like a trait that runs in their family because all five children in their family are comedians.

The comedian began his schooling at Kwatombe primary school and then joined Masii and Tala high school for his secondary education.

At this point in life is where he began nursing his passion and skill in drama by participating in drama club and also creating scripts which made him a favourite among teachers.

He wanted to do journalism but due to financial constraints, he had to look for something to do as he looked for money for his studies.

The actor went on to look for a local theatre production that does set books and here he came into contact with the Heartstrings group where he appeared as a warm seat narrator eight times.

From his jobs, he was able to raise his school fees to join the East African School of Media Studies.

Most of us got to know about the comedian from the Churchill show but his journey to work there was not so easy.

He used to attend in a bid to meet Churchill and then when they finally met he was invited to audition and funny enough he auditioned a couple of times before he landed on the show in 2013.

The joke that landed him a job at Kiss Fm was the interview he did with Mike Sonko's daughter Saumu Mbuvi.

This interview amazed Radio presenter Caroline Mutoko, who reached out to him to offer him a job at the radio station.

The former radio personality co-hosted the morning show alongside Caroline Mutoko before he moved over to the drive show with Linda Nyangweso and Jeff Mote.

Three years later on 7th March 2017, he exited the station to go start his own show the Chipukeezy show which was aired on Ebru Tv but then it got terminated later.

He then got another contract to host the show on Tv 47 alongside Kartelo and left him in charge when he went to work at NACADA.

The young man was then appointed as part of the board of directors of NACADA and he now works as an MC for the State House.

The comedian is celebrating 10 years in the comedy industry with a show dubbed "10 Toes Down".

Chupukeezy’s 10th anniversary in the comedy industry had been scheduled to happen at KICC but the venue was later changed.

"We take this time to announce that we have changed our venue for the Ten Toes Down event from KICC to Mwai Kibaki Convention Centre at MKU Thika. Join us as we celebrate this massive milestone, dining in love and laughter,” Chipukeezxy shared.

Currently, Chipukeezy works closely with President William Ruto and the Kenyan Kwanza government – hosting almost all events that involve the Youth.
