Comedian Eric Omondi has made a passionate plea to President William Ruto.

Omondi expressed his concerns about the state of the nation and urged the leader to prioritize the voices of the people.

''Mimi my message and request to the president of Kenya is, listen to the people don’t listen to your people, the people are your real people, listen wana sema nini.''

Through an interview with Plug he mentioned his fears of a potential dictatorship loom, Omondi noted the importance of listening to the citizens and understanding their needs.

''My request is this, just listen, nahisi kana kwamba rais hana experts na professionals ako na friends na acquaintances.''

Emphasizing that President Ruto is the only leader who rose from the grassroots to the presidency and can truly relate to the struggles of the people.

''Mheshimiwa Rais, the president of the republic of Kenya William Samoei ruto you are a hustler, you said you are not dynasty, you said you came from nowhere you are a hustler, you told us huyu mama mboga huyu , huyu boda boda, yaani tukianza bottom up tuanze na huyu mama, ulisema na tukakuamini''

Omondi highlighted several recent incidents that he perceives as signs of a growing dictatorship, including the case of Victor Juma, a young man who was arrested and held for three days in contravention of the Constitution.

The comedian called on the government to respect human rights and adhere to the rule of law.

Furthermore, Omondi voiced his concern about the presence of GSU (General Service Unit) in court premises, which has raised security and safety issues for lawyers and prosecutors.

''Martha koome why are you allowing GSU in the court premises hata lawyers ulisikia wanasema hawako safe, prosecutors soon hawatakuwa safe, kuna watu walikuwa wamebeba tear gas ndani ya koti, wanapiga media we are sliding into a dictatorship and it is still very early dalili ya mvua ni mawingu ''

He questioned the use of tear gas and alleged violence against media personnel, signaling a troubling trend in the country.

The comedian's message to President Ruto was a call to action to focus on the bottom-up approach he had promised during his campaign.

Omondi urged the President to listen to the people, especially the hustlers, and prioritize their needs in policy-making and decision-making processes.
