The Sabala festival will take place on September 2nd, 2023 at the famous Imperial Royal Hotel, Kampla.

The festival organizers have coined the term “Sabala” to represent the pinnacle of the dance between a man and a woman in Nubian culture.

This spectacular festival will feature a variety of displays, including various cuisines, fashionable attire, intriguing cultural dances, and thrilling Nubian entertainment shows.

The festival's principal purpose is to conserve Nubian culture and increase awareness about its rich existence.

The Nubians have a distinct identity defined by their distinctive clothing and music, with dance movements reminiscent of the grace of a crested crane. Their culture also incorporates traditional jewelry from the western area of Uganda, as do other Ugandan communities.

The festival's second year promises to be even more spectacular, with a fantastic performance by renowned artist Nubian Li.

At the same time, Apex University offered to sponsor five students within the Nubian community in East Africa.

Last year, the Nubian Sabala Festival made a comeback on December 24 at the KICC after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

The Sabala Festival was previously held annually in both Kenya and Uganda since 2006.

At that particular time, Grandpa Dynamics CEO Yusuf Noah said the festival was on a break due to the global pandemic.
