Davido donates Sh40 million to help the needy in 424 orphanages

• On his birthday in 2021, the singer asked his friends in the music industry to gift him money which he donated to orphanages across Nigeria

Nigerian star Davido is continuing his philanthropic work in Nigeria. The singer has revealed that through his foundation, the Davido Adeleke Foundation, he has donated a whooping Ksh 43,077,612.01 to orphanages across Nigeria.

The 'Unavailable' singer announced this on his Instagram.

"I’ve always wanted to use my platform to serve others. Thankful that through your generosity, I’ve been able to do so. We recently disbursed over N200m to several orphanages in Nigeria, a tradition that started a few years ago around my birthday. Thank you to everyone who donated. With your help, we are changing lives. This is what I mean when I say We rise by lifting others. These are words in action. God bless you all!"

He added;

“I am proud to announce that my foundation, The David Adeleke Foundation (DAF), has donated the sum of N237,000,000 (Two Hundred and Thirty-Seven Million Naira) to orphanages throughout Nigeria."

“The distribution of donation funds was led by the chair of the DAF Disbursement Committee, Mrs Titi Adebayo, with the foundation successfully distributing funds to 424 (Four Hundred and Twenty-Four) orphanages, benefiting a total of 13,818 (Thirteen Thousand, Eight Hundred, and Eighteen) children.”

The singer said the foundation has raised millions of Naira and disbursed much-needed funds to hundreds of orphanages, significantly improving the lives of countless children.

He added that his 2021 birthday left a mark in his heart and "reading the numerous letters and messages from everyone who received this donation has reaffirmed my commitment to continually assist the less privileged in any capacity. This motivated me to establish the DAF to execute our mission effectively.”

“Thanks to the generous contributions from individuals and corporations across various sectors and regions, the DAF was able to raise the substantial Donation Sum of 237M Naira.”

“I would like to personally thank all individuals and corporations that assisted in raising the Donation Sum. This would not have been possible without your unwavering support and kindness. May God bless each and every one of you,” he added.

The singer sad the foundation continues to make a positive impact in the lives of those in need.
