Ugandan legendary artiste Jose Chameleone has been hospitalized in the US following a stomach illness.

The singer's father told Bukedde TV that the 44-year-old legendary star has been having stomach complications;

“Chameleone has been sick in the past months. When he moved to America, the illness became worse. He is now so sick, he is on his sickbed. He has been having complications in his stomach that he is currently receiving treatment for."

Ugandan singer Gravitty Omutujji has called upon fellow Ugandan stars to come together and pray for the singer.

“As a country, we need to pray for Chameleone, his friends, and everybody, wherever you are, pray for Chameleone because he is terribly ill. At the time I gave him a call, he was heading into the OR room for an operation,”

In 2021, was reported to be critically ill and in the ICU. Photos of him at a hospital bed while being taken care of by his mother Prossy Mayanja went viral.

His personal assistant at the time, confirmed to some Ugandan media that the 'Valu Valu' hitmaker was indeed sick and was hospitalized at Nakasero Hospital.

At the time, his wife Daniella Atim revealed that he was suffering from H-pylori, a type of bacteria that infects the stomach. It can damage the tissue in the stomach and the first part of the small intestine.

"I'm proud of myself because I've mastered the art to stay calm during the storm," Daniella said

In another post, she was angered by social media users who had been spreading her husband's hospital photo.

"But why are we all sharing that so unpleasant photo of our personal person?" she asked on Instagram

"Do you guys realise he has children far from him whose emotional wellbeing you and me should protect? So I'm busy collected explaining to my child that Pylori is a bacterial infection that should clear with consistent treatment and you are all sharing a damn picture. Don’t we all have a happy picture of our favourite human?"

After being discharged, the singer took to social media to thank his mother for being there for him; confirming that he was indeed in hospital.
