Kenyan comedian and former Kiss Radio host, Oga Obinna, recently performed at a comedy show in Uganda.

During his performance, he discovered a stark contrast in the audience's reception and generosity compared to his experiences in Kenya.

Taking to Instagram to express his astonishment, Obinna praised the Ugandan fans for their punctuality, open-mindedness, and ability to appreciate jokes that some Kenyan fans find offensive.

Oga Obinna shared his amazement at the warm reception he received from the Ugandan audience.

Not only did they arrive on time and sit attentively throughout the show, but they also rewarded him with an unexpected outpouring of cash on stage.

The comedian revealed that he received the equivalent of Sh334,000 (Kenyan Shillings) from fans who thoroughly enjoyed the performance.

This display of appreciation left him both humbled and grateful.

Obinna also highlighted the distinct difference in the attitudes of Ugandan ladies in comparison to their Kenyan counterparts. He praised the Ugandan women for their warmth, understanding, and a rich sense of humor, emphasizing their generosity during the show.

The post attracted numerous comments from fans, including other performers who shared their own experiences of receiving substantial monetary gifts from audiences in Uganda.

It became evident that showering performers with money is a common practice in Uganda, creating a vibrant and supportive environment for entertainers.

While some Kenyans expressed their desire for their own audience to emulate the Ugandan fans, others defended their country's unique way of doing things and encouraged Obinna to practice social empathy and understand the cultural differences between the two nations.

Ich_bin_raul commented ''Hamia huko basi. If you don’t feel appreciated enough in Kenya. Look Obi, we are Kenyans. We have our own way of doing stuff. UG does it that way, we do it our way. And that’s very much ok. Just practice social empathy and you’ll be good. You should have mastered that this by now''

Oga Obinna's experience in Uganda not only highlighted the warm reception and generosity of the Ugandan audience but also sparked discussions among Kenyans about the appreciation and support shown to performers in their own country.

Arrow boy also commented ''Ugandans shower performers with money True story … I was given more than 100k ksh on stage last weekend in Mbale Uganda 😁😁😁😁''

It serves as a reminder of the diverse cultural dynamics within the entertainment industry and the impact they have on the experiences of comedians and other artists.

As Oga Obinna expressed his gratitude to the Ugandan fans and promised to return soon, his story serves as a testament to the power of audience reception and the importance of cultural context in the entertainment world.
