Bio Food Products Limited on 24th May 2023, made the official announcement of their new status as a B Corp, at Hemingways, Karen, Nairobi.

Bio Foods is the first Food and Beverage company to be certified in Kenya and the fourth in Africa.

As a B Corp, Bio Foods meets high standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability.

Achieving B Corp certification is a significant milestone for Bio Foods, affirming the longstanding commitment to making a positive difference in the world.

Throughout its operations, Bio Foods has consistently integrated sustainability and social responsibility into its business practices, by looking into; Sustainable Sourcing, Packaging Innovation, Community Engagement, and Employee Well-being.

B Corp certification is granted by B Lab, a non-profit organization that assesses and verifies a company's commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.

“There is a very serious transformative push, to production for consumption, and that is why Agriculture has been identified as the first five pillars by the office of the president, to stimulate the economy through agriculture,” said Hon. Jonathan Mueke.

In his key address, the Hon. Principal Secretary, of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Irrigation, called on Bio Foods and the private sector to create jobs and grow the economy. The government on the other hand will play the role of an enabler and create an environment enabling the private sector to remain sustainable and grow.
