• The singer said that he does not really like to talk about the death of his colleague TakeOff and most of the time he stays in a state of disbelief to avoid those thoughts.
For years, fans believed that all 3 members of the rap group Migos were related but Offset is coming clean ... saying he has nothing to do with Quavo and the late Takeoff.
According to TMZ magazine, Offset recently sat down for a new interview with Variety, where he confirmed that Quavo is Takeoff's uncle ... but the long-held assumption that Offset is Quavo's cousin is not true.
Still, Offset had a strong relationship with Quavo and the late Takeoff ... Offset was Quavo's classmate growing up in Georgia, while Offset hung out with Quavo and Takeoff when Offset was in the sixth grade.
They all grew up and eventually formed the rap group Migos. In an interview with Variety, Offset talks about his last collaboration with Takeoff and his new back tattoo honoring his late colleague, but he got emotional when asked about Takeoff's death and kept quiet.
"It's hard for me to talk about s**t right now. I never talk about these things," Offset shared. "Really. Talking about TakeOff is hard, man. Talking about all of this is hard.
That's why I don't, honestly. That sh** hurts. Like, it's going to put me in a mood, and I don't want to be in that situation." "Some things I never tell anybody. He's not here. That's a false feeling, bro," Offset continued, explaining that a little disbelief is all he can handle.
"I go through my day thinking it's fake. And I don't say anything to anyone about it."
Takeoff -- whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball -- was shot and killed in Houston, Texas, on November 1, 2022. He was 28 years old.
