On Tuesday night media personality Waihiga Mwaura hosted his late bulletin on Citizen TV.
During Tuesday's News segment, Mwaura was bid goodbye by a section of his colleagues led by Trevor Ombinja.
Ombija led his colleagues in singing a farewell song to Waihiga as well as presenting him with a goodbye cake.
They showered the journalist with praises reminiscing on the good memories they have built together over the years. They also reflected on his journey at Citizen TV from 2009 to 2023.
“Everybody is here just to say you are a great person and we wish you all the very best in where you go you will do very well because you are the anointed one and the power of the lord is with you.
“You are an amazing person,” Trevor Ombija said to Waihiga.
Amidst the celebrations, Waihiga’s wife Joyce Omondi also joined her colleagues at Citizen TV to bid goodbye to Waihiga who has landed a new job at BBC.
She mentioned that that this was the first time she was surprising Mwaura live on air as he doesn’t like surprises as a person.
“I’m glad I finally get to surprise Waihiga on Air. He doesn’t like surprises…I admire you, as a leader, a person, and a human being. You are incredibly talented, and so hard working and I see the hours that you put in and I just honor you for it. I thank God for opening this door for you and I know that your light is gonna shine brighter and brighter.
“Listening to your team and the entire wonderful thing they had to say about whom you are and I wanna be like you when I grow up.
“I Love you, I celebrate you and I will always be just behind you, cheering you on s your number one fan,” JoyceOmondi told her hubby.
