Singer Papa Soul aka Bensoul has confessed to breaking up with his girlfriend and how he is co-parenting with his baby mama.
On exiting Sol Generation, he said he left the label on good terms.
"Since the contract is up I feel it's a good time for me to work on my own empire. To leave a legacy, as much as I am a product of Sol Generation."
He says the songs are from personal experiences. One song touches on his baby mama and their daughter after her deadbeat claims concerning him.
Speaking to Mungai Eve, the singer-songwriter said that he and his baby mama have solved their issues.
"On the album, I wrote a song called Melody for my daughter. It's because as a purpose I would want her to be proud her dad is a superstar. She has healed me in so many ways, I am super happy that we decided to have the child. She reigns in my mind."
He said that it was a beautiful thing to be a parent and that they never had beef as parents. "Ni watu tu kupiga propaganda. I have been in my child's life in so many ways. I keep close tabs na baby mama."
He posted about a new album and a new bae. "Niko kama Harmonize, si mingle but I am single."
What happened?
"Love comes and goes and you try to work things but get to a point haiwezekani."
He insists that they remain friends in spite of the joint decision to end their relationship. She was even at the album launch.
"You know sometimes you try to be in one place but kwa roho zenyu mnafeel mnaiforce."
He also clarified that their split wasn't caused by their baby mama issues being spilled online.
