• Jeff's dad explains why they have done so.

Peter Ngugi, the father to the late Jeff Mwathi over the weekend invited his online community to view how the family is honouring after his body was exhumed and reburied.

In a video on his TikTok, Mr. Ngugi explains to Kenyans that the family is happy to do this for their beloved son.

Speaking off camera while showing workers cementing the grave and adding tiles, he says; "Tuko hapa tunamalizia siku ya leo tunaelekea kumalizia tukitengenezea Jeff siku ya mwisho."

He adds that it is a short process but needs to be done carefully.

"Ni maridadi tumpumzishe huyu kijana," as Mr. Ngugi provides an up-close look at the dedication inscribed on the tombstone.

It reads; "Nothing can separate us from Christ, not even death. I have fought the good fight I have finished the race I have kept the faith," shares the grieving father.

He tells Jeff; "My son rest in peace but you must fight for justice. You need to make this country safer and our people safe that's the reason why I bought you this beautiful stone in loving memory of Jeff Mwathi Ngugi. I am proud of you my beautiful son and I love you, rest in peace."

A Kenyan condoled with Mr. Ngugi telling him how much Jeff's death still hurts her to date.

Mr Ngugi assured her " mungu anakila sababu". Jeff's mother was also there and sat as they did the site afresh.

Mama Jeff Mwathi has always remained steadfast in her message to Kenyans thanking them for standing by her in her difficult moment.

Four days ago, she took to her Tiktok to appeal to his spirit writing, "Dear son, don't rest in any way until justice prevails" she shared her sorrow.
