• Nakuru Governor has joined calls for a speedy investigation into the murder.

• Addressing Nakuru residents in a bursary distribution exercise, the Governor warned that it will not be business as usual until justice is served in Jeff's murder.

23-year-old Jeff MWathi's body was exhumed five days ago for a fresh autopsy.

On April 1, Government pathologist Johansen Oduor and his team took various samples from Jeff Mwathi's body, including the anal area to determine if he may have been sodomised at the time of his death.

As investigations heighten to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of Geoffrey Mwathi Ngugi aka Jeff, DCI Mohamed Amin Momahed also went t the scene of the crime scene on 28th March 2023 to reconstruct the scene at Redwood Apartment.

Speaking while addressing Nakuru residents in a bursary distribution exercise, the Governor warned that it will not be business as usual.

"And it is very sad, huzuni mingi sana na mimi kama governor nasema we mus thave justice for Mwathi," she told the crowd.

Kihika told police that Jeff's killers must face the full force of the law.

"Mtoto wa mtu hawezi hawezi uwawa hivo alafu it goes as business as usual. Mtoto si paka, kw ahivyp hata mimi nasimamam na hiyo familia, na nataka nishikilie where I can, we make sure tumepata justice kwa hiypo mtoto"

She expressed disappointment at the slow pace of the investigation.

She also issued a warning to Jeff Mwathi's attackers.

"Kama wako after the investigation, they must face the law hakuna two ways about it. Sindiyo we must be a country yani maneneo yamefika it is terrible tuendelee kuombea watoto wetu kwa sababu kuna shida na families are suffering na kuna watu wamejifanya kama wanyama.

"So that others who are thinking of killing someone and thinking they can walk scot-free, we must make examples ya wale wamefanya maneno mbaya so that mwingine kabla afanye chochcote wanafikiria mara mbili, mara tatu" she assured Nakuru residents.

Adding; "So we are together na hiyo lazima tuskume kabisa,".
