Celebrated media personality Abubakar Abdullahi has officially parted ways with TV47 as their Chief Executive Officer (CEO) after four years.
In a statement, Abdullahi said that he is exiting the media space to pursue other interests.
He worked at the station as a Chief Editor before transitioning into the Chief Executive Officer role after the exit of his predecessor Eugene Anangwe.
“After four flowery years, I am leaving TV47 to pursue other interests.
“Thank you all for the support you offered me during my tenure first as Chief Editor and subsequently as the Chief Executive Officer.
“To my wonderful colleagues, this is my message to you,” Abdullahi said in part.
Abdullahi went on to narrate his stay at TV47, acknowledging the progress the station has made in the competitive media landscape.
“It has been a lifetime honour and privilege to serve as your chief Editor and subsequently as your Chief Executive officer for the last four years. When I took over the leadership of the company we deeply love, I made a commitment that we will fight for our spot in Kenya’s competitive media landscape.
"I am proud that we have made tremendous progress together. We were ranked the fastest-growing TV in Kenya and our numbers continue to grow,” he wrote.
