Socialite Pendo says she is a changed woman. The former Nairobi Diaries cast member spoke to Oga Obinna and admitted her life choices had cost her a lot.
She told Obinna that changing people's perception of her has been difficult often leading to lost career opportunities.
"I have been learning a lot, to do things under the waters," she shared.
"It's tricky. It puts me in a tricky position because I try to get something done, and when I go by myself it's hard. It just comes up with scandals and that's not me, it's frustrating," she continued.
She said how people still perceive her as a rowdy person no matter how much she tries to prove she is a changed person.
"As a person, I'm not like that, that's what I was selling that was me then, now I'm chilled, sina hiyo time."
She added that her role on the TV series was to be a rowdy, hostile cast member and to date, she regrets this.
"This time I know better."
She added that she was directed to date cast member Luwi to bring the numbers to the show "now let's put it on the table and I was doing what I had to do. I was selling Pendo and I was selling Luwi, according to the show we dated, we dated according to the show."
She mentioned that she was linked to several celebs because that's the image she was selling.
"I have smashed and that's my secret to keep."
She also got candid about landing in jail in 2020 over an unpaid bill in a restaurant. She says they were a group of friends who took off leaving her to take the blame.
"It was 180k something, ni long stori tu hata sikuwa peke yangu nilipelekwa kwa hoteli huyo mtu akakosa kulipa bill hakutoroka alikataa kulipa."
She says she did not go to jail.
"Sikuwa jela, jela gani? Nilienda korti si jela, nikaenda nyumbani kama kesi imeisha, ni long stori tu hata sikuwa peke yangi but juu ni Pendo na jina yangi ndio inajulikana it was used, let me not mention the rest, I was not alone."
She finished by explaining the lesson that she had learnt, saying,
"I took one for the team, the rest hepad, they just walked out. I can't walk out because they know me. In life, you get to learn your friends, it's life."
