Rapper Nonini on Thursday last week won a case he filed against Japanese company Syinix electronics and influencer Brian Mutinda for copyright infringement.
Mr. Mutinda used one of Nonini's famous hits, “We Kamu”, in a video advertising a new flat-screen TV from Syinix.
The musician on Saturday left his online fans talking after saying that he needed his money fast, by today, Monday.
"Think I deserve a Whiskey si ni #Furahiday 🤣 @stevensmuendo1 lakini hope most Musician follow the lead. Make sure you copyright your material and get them split sheet's done. It's important #Mgenge2ru @50cent #NeedThatByMonday," he wrote while sending a warning.
Following his legal victory, Nonini shared his thoughts and responded as well to several fans about it.
"General damages plus cost of suit and interest. Im gonna need that by Monday," he told.
Well, Nonini has retracted his statement saying that was just a joke as the due process must be followed before he gets his money.
Talking to Homeboyz's G-Money Nonini further stated that when approached nicely, he would allow people use his music for free.
"Twitter is all about banter and everything. I don't need my money on Monday. Ofcos it was not true, there are processes involved in all this.
"If you tell me you want me to allow you to use my songs for something, I might allow you to use it.," he told Homeboyz radio on phone.
